Rhinestone Project - Valentine Box
A Valentine Box for Flora!

Take a look at this cute Valentine box we made for Flora! Just knowing that we had lots of hearts and girly designs tempted us to create a special bling box. Flora can use this to collect her valentines on Valentine's Day. Then she can use it year around in her room for all those special little things that a girl collects.
This particular box was made with an empty tissue box and a piece of quilted red fabric. We used a bit of zebra stripe ribbon and then embellished with Jubilee Rhinestone's iron on transfers. Shown below is a quick tutorial with pics and instructions on how this box was created. If you make an amazing bling box of your own, send us your pictures and we'll post them on facebook to share.

How to make this Valentine Box
Trace all sides and the top of the box on the back of some solid quilted fabric.

The finished drawing should look something like this with the top in the middle and all four sides attached.

Cut around the outer edges of the shape about 5/8" from the line.

Clip the four inside corners diagonally as shown.

Now stitch the edges of the sides together to form a "box". Slip this over the top of your tissue box. Fold the bottom edges under the tissue box and glue in place with a hot glue gun.
(sorry, no picture of this step)
Cut out the opening in the top of the box. Leave excess to fold under so the opening edges will be finished. Clip the corners of the excess diagonally. Fold under the excess and glue in place with a hot glue gun.

Now decorate your box with iron on rhinestone embellishments or any other glue on pretties. Apply the iron directly to the fabric covering the box but don't press so hard that it distorts the shape of the box.
For this box that we made in the studio for Flora, we used the following Jubilee Rhinestone transfer designs:
- Girly Font Upper Case Letters
- Silver Nailhead Letters
- Embellish 3 designs
- Lines
- Red Lips
- Ribbon Bow
- assorted individual stones
